Bruno Listopad started studying classical ballet in Lisbon at The National Conservatory Dance School and debuted as a choreographer in The Netherlands in 1998 at Holland Dance Festival. Listopad's work has been commissioned by institutions among which Holland Dance Festival, Acarte, Korzo Producties, Springdance Festival, Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel, Ballet Gulbenkian, Rotterdam-Porto Cultural Capitals 2001, Dance Works Rotterdam, Nye Carte Blanche, Dutch National Ballet, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Something Raw Festival. Awards received include, Prize of Interpretation Prix Volinine (1997), Revelation Prize Ribeiro da Fonte from the Portuguese Ministry of Culture (1999), Choreography Encouragement Prize from the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (2000), and the Philip Morris Art Prize (2001). Listopad led with four other artists the choreographic research institute Danslab, co-curated with Mariette Dölle To All Tomorrows's Parties a performance exhibition at TENT Rotterdam, and curated Weber Woche an exhibition and performance program at Stroom Den Haag with contributions of artists, among which, Lizzie Fitch/Ryan Trecartin. Co-authored with Nikola Knežević visual work, namely SHOW MORE exhibited at Stroom Den Haag. As an educator, Listopad has worked in institutions among which ArtEZ Master of Theatre Practices, Master Artistic Research KABK, Master Artistic Research UvA, DasArts Master of Theatre, St. Lucas School of Arts Antwerp, Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, ICK Amsterdam, FAÍCC, COMMA Master Choreography, Master Institute of Visual Cultures AKV|St. Joost, DAS Theater, DAS Choreography, and SNDO School for New Dance Development, both as a teacher and mentor since 2013.
